A potpourri of musings.

Real life has mirrored the comic lately: things have been crazy insane these past few weeks, but now things are winding down and there’s not much to talk about.  Danica risked her life to recharge the Star Power, fought a space motorcycle gang, and helped re-apprehend one of the Millennium Federation’s most wanted criminals; we’ve done numerous conventions almost back-to-back, I hosted a double-feature burlesque show that was more like a play than a cabaret performance, and Garth overcame numerous health obstacles.

Truth be told, this cooldown period has never felt so welcome.

So in light of nothing to really talk about at length this week, here are some random little thoughts I have banging around in my head.  I hope you find a few of them somewhat entertaining:

– I’ve been a fan of professional wrestling since the 1980s, and I continue to nerd out to this day over the presence and mystique of The Undertaker.  This translates in nerdspeak to “OH MY GOD DID YOU GUYS SEE THE ENDING TO BATTLEGROUND THE RINGING OF THE BELL AND THE CROWD WENT NUTS AND THEN HE JUST APPEARED AAAAAAH!”

– Leto and I had our first beach day this past weekend.  He was absolutely freaking adorable and charmed everyone around him, from friends to strangers.  In my efforts to make sure he was well fed and protected from the sun, however, I neglected to make sure I was well fed and protected from the sun.  My friends fed me, but man oh man do I have a nasty sunburn on my back.  Ouch.

– I picked up The Witcher 3.  I’m not very far into the game (I’m not even level 10 yet) but so far I’m finding the world to be just a little too dark for my tastes.  It’s a fine game with a solidly imagined world, but I like a little light in my darkness.  This setting, so far, is all dark gray.  I was warned about this before I purchased the game, but I foolishly thought, “How dark can it be?”  It’s not Warhammer 40K dark, but it’s certainly gloomy.

– I don’t normally get excited about games that aren’t out yet… but I am seriously chomping at the bit for No Man’s Sky.
