A Potpourri of Ponderings.

There are a few things on my mind as I sit down to write today’s blog, but none of them are lengthy or interesting enough to make a full post.  So, as I do when I’m in this situation, I’m going to share the little snippets that are banging around in my head.  With luck, emptying them will make room for something more interesting to post on Thursday.

– I goofed.  The temporarily-titled Star Power Holiday Special was supposed to run for nine pages, but I miscalculated the end date of “The Choir of Doctor Hymn.”  The Holiday Special mini-comic, which will be drawn by me, will instead be five pages long.

– I love Hitman 2.  Most people I know are losing themselves in Red Dead Redemption 2 or Fallout 76, but I’m indulging a guilty pleasure in being a master assassin.  This really is a guilty pleasure because I normally don’t subscribe to the “professional killer with a heart of gold” or “assassin who only kills bad people” archetypes.  Agent 47 is my one and only exception.

– I’m drawing again, and it feels nice to make art.  My 2018 vow to read more comics led me to Moebius, whose art lit the spark.  My participation in this year’s Inktober ignited the fire.  What began as an excuse to make art in October led to my launching my own little art Patreon page, which in turn led me to volunteer to draw the Star Power Holiday Special.  That part of me needed a break.  A long break.  But now it’s awakening in me again, and this reunion feels nice.

– My son loves Queen.  So now I, too, love Queen.  I’ve always liked and appreciated them.  Their music has been on my radar since the Bohemian Rhapsody scene in Wayne’s World, but I never really sought them out.  Since my son loves singing along to that same song, I went ahead and bought a multi-disc platinum collection of their greatest hits.  Now he and I have little dance moves and singalongs with many of Queen’s greatest hits.  He especially likes being tickled during the laser blasts in “Flash.”

Those are all the little snippets and musings in my head today.  With luck, they’ve cleared the way for something more interesting and lengthy to talk about for Thursday’s blog poooooosstttwwaaaiiitttt a second Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the U.S., so I’ll probably just be posting a Happy Thanksgiving blog post talking about food.

I may have goofed again.
