Return to Escape Velocity!

This weekend Garth and I will be making our return to ESCAPE VELOCITY, a highly unique convention we had the pleasure to attend for its inaugural launch in 2016!  The only reason we didn’t return last year was because of a scheduling conflict.  This year our schedules were free and they were kind enough to invite us back for their third year.  We’re so happy to be coming back and hope you’ll join us there!

Escape Velocity can best be described as the combination of a sci-fi convention and a science fair.  Alongside the authors, artists, and vendors were scientists, astronauts, and engineers.  It serves as a reminder that sci-fi stands for both science and fiction, and having both sides represented is a breath of fresh air.  That there’s more to geek culture than memes, fan art, and viral videos.  That ideas for faraway worlds and fantastic aliens can come from education and learning.  Escape Velocity brings the geek back into geek culture, and I didn’t know how much I’d missed it until it returned.

If you want a more in-depth look at our experience at the first Escape Velocity, check out our STAR POWER AT ESCAPE VELOCITY vlog from 2016!  We’re certain to have as much fun this weekend as we did two years ago, and we hope you’ll join us for a weekend of both science and fiction.

He spent the last ten years as the author and artist of the fantasy webcomic, "Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire." He enjoys spending time with his wife and their three cats.
